Since 1995, Students for Hip Hop @ Cal has promoted music, culture, and academia on the campus and localities of UC Berkeley. Students for Hip Hop @ Cal is one of the Bay Area’s largest hip hop based organizations, working to help the hip hop culture of the Bay Area connect, unite, and thrive. Students for Hip Hop has put on many events, such as our annual Hip Hop in the Park in the spring, which open the doors to solidarity and allow progressive and thoughtful dialogue for the public. Our main goal is to bring our culture to the masses, as a tool for social and political change reflecting our views on youth education, respect for women, the struggle for justice, and a more positive reflection of hip hop culture in the media.
